
John “JB” Brunschwyler brings over two decades of hands-on experience. Mr. Brunschwyler’s broad knowledge base covers regulatory, flight safety, avionics design,software development, mechanical systems, assembly, integration, and launch operations. As a former program leader, he has demonstrated the ability to build and maintain a skilled, motivated, and focused team delivering rockets and satellites for customers. In addition, Mr. Brunschwyler has significant new business and government relations background including active participation on various industry and government panels. Mr. Brunschwyler’s worked at Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems (Orbital Sciences Corporation) as a program director for Launch Vehicles. His latest project included the Third Stage launch system for NASA’s Parker Solar Probe. This flagship mission for NASA launched successfully 12 August 2018.
Mr.Brunschwyler joined Orbital Sciences in 1992 and has served in multiple key positions. His first hands-on position was the lead vehicle engineer for the 8th Pegasus mission launching the first of the Orbcomm spacecraft. This gave Mr. Brunschwyler the thirst to become more involved in the design and development of cutting edge space systems. He served as the Orbcomm spacecraft systems integration and test manager, culminating in the successful launch of 35 Orbcomm low-Earth orbit (LEO) communications satellites aboard the company’s Taurus and Pegasus launch vehicles. He later served as Program Director for the Taurus Launch Vehicle culminating in a successful launch for Planet in 2017. Between Taurus missions, he also served as deputy program manager on the DARPA MiTEx spacecraft program that launched successfully in 2006.
Mr. Brunschwyler holds a M.A. in Mathematics from The George Washington University.
